Colombia Shipped by Sail (Emission Free!)

from £9.50

This gorgeous Colombian coffee has a beautiful combination of creamy caramel notes balanced by dark chocolate and with a crisp brown sugar finish. This delicate balance makes it a highly satisfying cup to drink, and we enjoy it immensely.

Along with fabulous flavour, this coffee also has an amazing story — in actual fact, it was shipped to the UK on a SAIL SHIP. We are thrilled to be working with Shipped by Sail, a local Winchester-based logistics company working to provide more eco friendly solutions for small businesses like ourselves with a desire to make a difference.

The coffee is certified to meet the Excelso standard as established by the National Committee of Coffee Growers of Colombia. It is hand picked, carefully selected, fermented, washed and dried. The farmers are constantly looking to improve their techniques, with innovations such as slow breeze drying, manual defect removal, specialised tree care, long fermentation process, and careful selection of only mature cherries.

It is 100% Arabica coffee.

Varietals: Caturra, Castillo and Colombia

Altitude: 1500-1900 metres above sea level

This coffee originates in Tolima, a central Anean region of Colombia that’s perfect for good agriculture with its steep mountains, deep valleys and abundant water.

It is UTZ and Fair Trade certified, and farmers are paid a fair price which at a minimum is equal to the price of certified coffee — but often significantly more.

Care is taken to minimise the use of pesticides as well as waste water.
